The Krimulda Order’s castle was built during the reign of Archbishop Albert II in 1255.
In 1625 Krimulda was donated to the Swedish state counsellor, Admiral Gabriel Gabrielson, Count of Oxershern. Later Krimulda has passed to captain Helmersen, but in 1817 the Manor was acquired by the Prince Johann fon Liewen. As we see, counts and princes were a good judge of the real estate.
